“hearing the beautiful sounds of nature”

Thank you to the Give Us Time team for their help in arranging such a pleasant stay for us at Hesperus Lodge.

I have sent a letter extending my thanks via post too but also touching base over email to just say once again how grateful I am for this opportunity to relax and detox from the rest of the world at this beautiful lodge. I found it a very fun stay, with plenty to get stuck in with in the local area outside of just relaxing.

I had just had surgery done on my lower back, so it was actually a very nice way to just do nothing and relax in the wilderness. The location of the lodge, next to the River Tone was an ideal setting to wake up to, hearing the beautiful sounds of nature. Emma was a great host who gave us a lovely handbook of things to do as well as some trails and attractions to see in the vicinity. We visited the Ashbrittle Yew tree, which is one of the oldest living things in Britain, as well as having a walk up the Grand Western Canal. I have also attached some photos for you to use from our stay. This stay was just a few weeks before I am due to move to Cyprus for a 2 year posting, so it was fantastic timing and will remain a truly memorable stay for me.
