Give Us Time and Virgin Unite come together to support Forces families.

Give Us Time is thrilled and very grateful to have been awarded a financial grant, courtesy of the Virgin Unite Local Legends fund.  Give Us Time has supported Forces families to spend time together on respite breaks since 2013, and was nominated by Jo Reader-Reynolds, a long-standing supporter from Virgin Atlantic, who has been connected with the Armed Forces community for many years, and with Give Us Time since the outset.

Lt Col Rupert Forrest (Ret’d) MBE, Senior Charity Advisor for Give Us Time, said “This wonderful grant from Virgin Unite Local Legends will allow Give Us Time to continue its vital work supporting our Forces families, who often get forgotten.  Give Us Time had its best year ever last year, helping more than 280 families spend time together on breaks and days out, but the pressures on our Armed Forces show no sign of reducing over the coming years, and providing these opportunities to rest, reconnect and recover grow to be as important as ever.  This support from Virgin Unite also demonstrates the strong link between civil society and the Armed Forces.”

Virgin Unite Local Legends was launched to celebrate and support the hard work of community charities and the Virgin employees who volunteer for them. In each round of funding, a huge range of charities are selected to receive grants, addressing issues ranging from food poverty to mental health support for children and young people, and the empowerment of girls and young women. Give Us Time is looking forward to building its relationship with Virgin Unite and Virgin employees even more, to our mutual benefit.
