“We’re Kate and Joe – we live in our cottage in the Welsh hills with our three dogs, six cats and four chickens. Our place in North Wales is a magic spot – we’ve recently built a cabin out in our garden and tucked away from the main house, and we feel lucky to be able to share our valley with guests.

Joe was discharged from the armed forces with Complex PTSD in June 2021 after 24 years. In that time, both of us have been supported by a number of military charities, and we felt that we wanted to try and find a way to give a little something back to veterans and their families. Giving them the opportunity to experience the calm, wonderful landscape we get to live in – away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Cwm Llan cabin is a great spot to unwind, and get back to nature – with incredible walks from the door. It’s a remote let without any shops or pubs in walking distance, and we often get snowed in as we’re at the end of a farm track – so a stay would require good planning and a sense of adventure! But it’s worth it for the views all year round.”
