“I can’t quite describe how much it meant to us”

It’s Christmas Eve, a time filled with anticipation and excitement for so many. But amidst the twinkling lights and celebrations, take a moment to think of those who have experienced loss this year.  Reading Dan’s story was a poignant reminder of the challenges this season can bring.

“I learned about Give Us Time through my case worker in Royal Navy Welfare. My son Zac was still born at 33 weeks in September, since then we have gone through an emotional rollercoaster of grief and really wanted to escape for a few days and explore somewhere new.

“The woodland lodge we stayed at in the Sandy Balls Holiday Resort in the New Forest provided a welcome respite from the difficulties of being in the house. We used our time to explore the local countryside, enjoying beautiful walks and roaring fires in village pubs, and returned home feeling ready to tackle the difficult times ahead.

“We both can’t thank Give Us Time enough for the opportunity to get some headspace and recharge. Thank you so much.”
