We loved reading Jenni’s feedback following her family break in the Autumn. It really does show the impact that military life has on family life, and how important Give Us Time’s breaks are in helping to make memories and rebuild precious family bonds.
I would just like to thank Give Us Time so much for the amazing respite break at Brynteg Country & Leisure Retreat.
In June 2023, I gave birth to our first child; by October 2023 when our son was only 4 months old, my husband was deployed for 4 weeks before coming back. Being by myself was hard enough with a baby but I was also coming to the end of studying for my degree in physiotherapy.
Just as I finished my degree in January 2024, my husband was again deployed for a further 4 months, meaning he didn’t come home until our son was 10 months old. This meant my husband had basically missed out on half of our son’s life already. When he came back there was next to no bond between them.
Getting this time away at Brynteg was just what our little family needed. My husband and son got to spend the time they needed together to be able to build a bond. Brynteg was a lovely clean resort with an onsite bar and restaurant which was very reasonably priced, and staff were very friendly. Not to mention how lovely, modern and spacious the caravan we stayed in was.
This was a much-needed break to reunite us as a military family.
Thank you to our wonderful donors, Park Holidays, for this opportunity!
